The Aylon Samouha Trio has been delighting audiences in the Midwest for decades. The trio is more than a band but a veritable collective featuring some of the most sought-after vocalists in Chicago.

For their Friday residency at Esmerelda’s, the trio will bring the music of South America, Mexico, and the Caribbean with some traditional jazz and American pop thrown in for good measure. Aylon Samouha is a jazz, Latin, Brazilian guitarist and vocalist who has partnered with percussionist Leo Pena to form an electrifying rhythm section to showcase two incredible vocalists — Sophia Sanchez and Mercedes Landazuri. Sophia is a multi-genre singer, musician, and flamenco dancer who captivates audiences through song and movement.

Mercedes is a multi-genre singer and instrumentalist with a devoted following in Chicago and around the world through her popular youtube channel. Sophia and Mercedes will rotate Fridays throughout the residency.
